It’s always good to have something that you can reliably turn to to brighten your mood, and almost nothing makes me smile or laugh more reliably than funny animal videos. Even better when the animal is extra smart and/or talented. Birds in particular can really wow me with their talent and personalities.

Absolutely adorable. Let me tell you my funny bird story. The other morning I decided to cut some chives that are growing in a pot on the balcony. Armed with my scissors, I proceeded to the balcony only to discover that someone had neatly trimmed my chives during the night. Who else could I blame but Dad? After he finally assured me that he was not responsible, I even looked on the internet to find out what type of animals ate chives. I guess I thought that by some miracle an animal had climbed all the way up to the third floor just to eat my chives. After a while, I looked on the balcony only to find a fat robin hopping along to the pot of chives. I was astounded to see it hop up into the pot and neatly bite off a few pieces of chives. What a hoot that was. Dad thinks the robins are using the chives to make a nest. Otherwise, there must be a lot of green poop all over Nell’s Acres.
